I have been shocked by the number of people who have congratulated us or sent us good wishes on our engagement. We have really felt loved!
Annie stopped by and brought our first wedding gift! It was such a sweet thing to do and I definitely was not expecting anything this early. It is a WillowTree figurine and it is beautiful. She told me the meaning behind it and it relaly meant so much to me that she spent the time to pick out what she thought was the perfect one to represent me and Gill.
We have also reaceived a few cards from friends and family. I obviously knew that we would receive gifts and cards during this time, but I never expected these so early and not from a shower or party.
I can't wait to look through all these later on in life and remember all the exciting things that are happening to use right now.

Engagement!
I wanted to start this blog as a great way to keep record of all the exciting things that are happening during this time in our lives. I love the idea of being able to print this one day and have all of our memories and photos in one place. That being said...
Gill and I got engaged Sunday night, March 20th. It's the first day of Spring and my dear friend Melane's brithday. He had been gone to St. Francisville for the weeked to fish with his dad (and, apparently, pick up my ring) and stopped at my house on his way home to Haughton. He lasted an entire five minutes before asking and giving me my beautiful ring. It was perfect... just us.
I immediately wanted to go show my mama. We left and on the drive over, Gill told me he had stopped at her house on the way in to ask her permission. He told her he didn't know when he was going to propose, but he was going to wait. We were literally back at my mama's house twenty minutes after he had left!
While we were at my mama's, Gill gave me a gift that his parents had sent with him to give to me. They wrote me the sweetest card welcoming to their family and gave me a gorgeous Waterford ring holder.
Gill had to leave to go to Houston Monday for work for the week. We just spent the evening at his house, doing laundry and homework. Probably not the most exciting way to spend the evening, but it was nice.
